OK, I installed the 7.3 driver & CCC, and I no longer experience BSOD with Ati External Event Utility enabled. However, my card does not appear to be accelerating to 3D speeds. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?
FYI, I tried matching resolutions (desktop=game) to no avail. Even something as simple as World of Warcraft didn't work with Hotkey Poller enabled. I have a dual-monitor setup--not sure if that matters at all.

I would like to try the 'resolution matching' solution with the ATI Tray Tools screen display. Mcmlxxx IV, where did you find the Vista version? I wasn't able to locate it... (Or does the 1.2.6.964 / 12-7-06 XP build work?) Thanks.
collection: The fact that they say in the notes for the 7.2 drivers that the x1950xt is not supported means (in my book) that they acknowledge the problem.
You guys might thing I'm crazy, but I tried kAmMa's homebrew driver. It installed fine, and indeed my computer did not crash when starting games (even with Hotkey Poller running)... However, the card was not switching to 3D clocks, because I got the same (terrible) 3DMark06 score with kAmMa's...
