The biggest Company that would have made SED more availible to consumers (Toshiba) got forced out due to Litigation against Canon and Toshiba. Which works out it seems cause Toshiba was looking at SED as a Stop gap til OLED was able to get up to speed (estimated 2011 or so). But that timeframe...
The new Models have a VGA still. DVI and HDMI are interchangable. No word on a new 37" It's all up to CMO (Chi Mei) if they do a new 37" or not. The New plant they're using for the TX series has a much Higher Yield of panels than the one they were using for the 37W3 & 42W2. Once they do decide...
I wouldn't say it's discontinued. The scarcity of this Monitor comes and goes. If you notice there have been numerous times in this thread that this fear would happen only to have massive restocks a few weeks later. Currently there is no replacement for the 37W3 so it's fairly safe to assume...
I'd venture to guess looking at the Revised MSRPs for the TX line it'd drop @~$1199 or $1099 MSRP. I'll ask around if CMO has made any new 37" panels...That is unless someone here knows anythng and can chime in. CMO's Website is about as up to date and accurate as Westy's. :P
I wouldn't say they're going to let the 37" die. They are probably evaluating how to release it. i.e. reduce inputs, leave it as a Monitor and launch it as a an equivilent of a LVM-37W4, Make a TX-37.
There is a new 1080p Line due out anyday and BB will have them soon however, there is NO NEW 37" in the new 1080p line. Only a new 42 and 47 due out before the end of this month and a 52 due out this Fall. I think Westy is just going to keep the 37w3 around for a while but the New 42 (NEW MSRP...
Just to add, there is no rumor currently of a new 37" Westy. The New line is the TX-##F4#0S line. There is 3 Currently on the way the TX-42F430S, TX-47F430S and the TX-52F480S. Maybe they'll announce a TX-37F430S @ CEDiA in Aug-Sept.
The 37W1 Doesn't have a Tuner at all According to their site. The 1st Westys that are 1080p AND have a Tuner will be the New TX Line. There is no knowledge of a TX-37 though.
Well Seeing it in action I'm sold on that mount for my soon to be Westy TX-42.
ot: Is that a Jojo's Bizzare Adventure Figure to the right of the monitor? :P
Sadly there is no word on a 37w4 or a TX-37. No new 37" was shown @ CES, there were new 32"s @720p but no new 37"s at all makes you wonder if they're developing a panel entirely. Maybe they'll have something @ CEDIA in Sept.
Yeah but that won't mean that will be the street price. The MSRP for the 37W3 is much higher than $1100 just as the MSRP for the 42W2 is much higher than the $1300 street price. There's 3 places tat are putting the Street for the TX-42 @ $1300-1500 (including Amazon)...
That's the Best price I've seen for the 42w2 Shipped. Sooo Tempted But I gotta wait, I also saw that J&R has the TX-42 up for preorder and it's only $100 more than they're charging for the 42W2 @_@ This gives me hope that the TX-42 will only be slightly more than the current street of the 42w2
