Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I just pulled the trigger on some more memory on my Z170 build so that I fill all four DIMM slots. Will I have to remove the D15 to access DIMM slots 2 and 4?
Looking for feedback from those with a D15/14 as it would be nice to not have to remove the heatsink.
EDIT: Clearance is not an issue.
I have this same board and did not need to load any additional drivers during installation (2x Crucial MX100s). Created the software RAID and booted to a Win8.1 install disc.
The install media saw the new volume. I did upgrade Intel RST drivers to the latest version from Intel as drivers on...
I was in the same position when I jumped from an i5 2500k to a i7 6700k. Here are my thoughts (you can see my sig to see how my old system stacked up).
The Sandy Bridge part is very capable and if your only objective at this time is increased gaming performance then the GPU is your best bet...
I have been setting my adaptive voltage via the method below:

Staying with 4.5 Ghz and have been able to lower it to 1.3v stable. May push voltages further down but with 1.3v and 62c stress temps I am comfortable.
Hardware Canucks posted the same issue about this in their review of the Z170 deluxe.

I am on BIOSv 0508 on my Hero. I hope another BIOS update will fix the issue.
Edit: My CPU...
No modifications to LLC. Just adaptive v core and multiplier. Curiously though Speedstep is not working properly. Goes down to 40x but not lower at idle.
Idle voltage is at 0.8 which is normal. Perhaps another BIOS update will fix this issue.
Hello,
I have not seen an authoritative source for safe Skylake voltages. I have a mild overclock on my 6700k and wanted to be certain my voltages were safe.
Running at a x45 multiplier
Max Temp after 1hr: 63c
CoreV: 1.32 (Adaptive set in UEFI)
Cooler: DH-15 Noctua

Mine still says packaging, but I believe it is due to ordering so close to COB Friday (3:40 PM PST). I think many folks who ordered before 3PM PST got shipped on Friday per NewEgg's statement below
From NewEgg order confirmation:
"Please keep in mind that if the order was placed after 3 PM...
I have one EVGA GTX 670 2GB FTW card to sell. This 670 is using the slightly longer 680 PCB and clocked to near 680 speeds. I hope that I can find this card a good home and maybe even someone who could use it for SLI :D
Part # 02G-P4-2678-KR
$170 + S/H

Box and original...
Would an EVGA FTW (/w reference cooler) work? I have one that I am looking to sell.

A couple of ideas:
1) Do a thorough cleaning on your PC. If the stock cooler was caked with dust, then odds are the entire machine could use a good cleaning.
2)Optimize Airflow: If there is anyway to tidy up the cable management, remove unused drive bays, add an extra intake fan on the bottom...
Those symptoms suggest that the video card driver is crashing or that the card itself is defective. Ive received the same error message when trying to game with an unstable overclock.
The best bet would be to try another video card/clean install of drivers and see if games still crash...
