So what do you guys think about these new 25" 1440p IPS monitors ?

My Radeon HD3850 video card only has dual link DVI output. The U2515h doesn't support DVI input. See detail here: I connected the Acer G257HU last night DVI->DVI and it works beautifully at 2560x1440. Compared to the Dell It does have a bit worse backlight bleed on the right side, mostly on...

So what do you guys think about these new 25" 1440p IPS monitors ?

An Acer G257HU arrived at my home yesterday. I have a Dell U2515h right now, but can't drive it to max resolution. I plan to compare the two to determine if I should keep the Acer assuming I can drive it at full 1440 or live with the Dell @2048x1152 until I get a new video card. I have a i1...

    Dell U2515H

Where you referring to my issue? My graphic card only has DVI dual link output. The U2515h will take 2560x1440 input via HDMI without a custom mode, but no DVI->HDMI cable can not support the bandwidth.

So what do you guys think about these new 25" 1440p IPS monitors ?

I am interested in either of Acers and the ASUS instead of the Dell as they have DVI input and the Dell doesn't. I'd order either if I could be sure they can be set with brightness of 120 cd/m2 or less and that they can be properly HW calibrated. (color accuracy is high priority for me)

    Dell U2515H

Has anyone compared the U2515h to the ASUS PB258Q? I have had a U2515h for about two weeks now, but can not use it at full resolution as my video card is dual link DVI only and adapting to HDMI limits res to 2048x1152 (my issue here: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1866673 ) My...

Is dual link DVI to HDMI 2650x1440 possible?

I can't find a clear answer that if a graphics card output is dual link DVI at 2650x1440 60hz there is a DVI to HDMI cable that can carry the signal to monitor that accepts 2650x1440. Is it correct that any DVI->HDMI cable must be single link and therefore never be able to support 2650x1440 60hz?

Dell U2413 or U2415 or.... low glow photo edit monitor

Thank you. You are the first to note that the multi color (red/blue) glow may be due to wide gamut. This picture is not mine and not any of the monitors I looked at, but it shows the dual color glow I was referring to. This example (its a U3014 also wide gamut) is also severely overexposed...

Dell U2413 or U2415 or.... low glow photo edit monitor

I don't need (and can't support yet with my GPU nor all my SW) 10-bit, which has more to do with banding vs. not. Generally I want good, but don't need perfect, color & uniformity. Not as good as a pro imaging monitor, but better than the office work oriented ones. As it is now my calibrated...

Dell U2413 or U2415 or.... low glow photo edit monitor

A CRT is a good idea and makes sense from a photo editing/printing of view, but for a variety of reasons (space being primary) I am not going there. Or the OLED as its too new for me. It is down to CX241 or CX271 or A standard gamut 1920x1200 or 2560x1440 LCD monitor that can be calibrated...

Dell U2413 or U2415 or.... low glow photo edit monitor

I've been struggling what to do and would welcome advice. My usage is near 100% static graphics. I print in Adobe RGB and use color managed software. I have an i1 display (not Pro) to cal monitor. I also do some sound recording/editing. My eyes are bad even with correction requiring me to...

Dell U2413 or U2415 or.... low glow photo edit monitor

That was not my experience with the U2413, it is capable of being calibrated and gives access to RGB controls. The 'factory calibrated' sRGB mode is not bad either except for default brightness. I could live with most of its imperfections, just not its 'dual color' IPS glow. Thank you for the...

Dell U2413 or U2415 or.... low glow photo edit monitor

I'll distill my questions: 1. Does the U2415 have less and/or neutral color IPS glow compared to the dual color IPS glow of the U2413? Or alternately in calibrated sRGB mode (for 1:1 comparison) which is a better monitor for static image quality as needed for photo editing? 2. Any issues in...

Dell U2413 or U2415 or.... low glow photo edit monitor

My long old monitor was a Dell 2007wfp which won't power on anymore. Vid card is a Sapphire Ultimate Edition 100226U Radeon HD 3850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 with dual link DVI-D output capable of 2560 x 1600. I bought the wide gamut Dell U2413 to replace at $430. I found the...
