Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I purchased mine from Buy.com.
45 day "No questions asked" return policy with no re-stocking fee, even if the box has been opened.
To test for BLB, view a black screen in total darkness. Keep in mind that all IPS/PLS monitors exhibit "IPS glow" (unless you are lucky enough to have the extra...
Not all 27" Samsungs have bleed (mine doesn't); however, it seems to be not uncommon.
Bottom line, if you buy the Samsung it may or may not have unacceptable bleed. If it does, no doubt you can exchange it until you get a good one. How may times? Who knows.
If that is not an issue for you...
I have both.
My wife likes the 24" because of its larger text (larger dpi), whereas I prefer the 27" because I can fit more side-by-side. I have recently raised my Windows 7 custom ppi setting to 114%, which is supposed to be the correct setting. I have found that the majority of applications...
I still use two Samsung 213P monitors with one of my rigs. Awesome for side-by-side work, like creating documentation (copy/paste across screens) or music (rack in one screen, sequencer in the other).
Of course, it is not the "perfect" monitor, but you should be able to resolve the blue issue to relative satisfaction with calibration.
If you want true sRGB out-of-the-box, I suggest the NEC PA241W-BK set to sRGB emulation.
The 27" seems to have a better record with BLB than the 24".
My S27A850D does not suffer from backlight bleed, whereas my wife's S24A850DW does have a small amount.
I would recommend the NEC P or PA series for your use case, but if you aren't keen on the AG coating, then the Samsung SA27850D would put you in the catbird seat.
Two monitors = bezel in the middle, and the extra rows of pixels with the S24A850DW are great for coding. Exchanging monitors may not be fun, but a) it may not be necessary, b) this may happen even with NEC, and c) that was not OP's question.
Now, three 24" monitors would be great, although I...
Who cares how many 1080p panels you can get for the same price? You are mixing apples and oranges.
I can't recommend 1080p for text. The S24A850D is a great choice.
I experienced some very unpleasant artifacts with some video content when set to "Fastest." "Faster" was significantly better, and "Normal" solved the problem completely.
OP, I have the S27A850 and would choose it over the Dell or the HP, hands down.
With your budget, it's a no-brainer to me.
The only alternative I would consider would be three 24" displays side-by-side. That would be too expensive for S24A850's, so I might consider the lesser quality Dell...
Not sure what you mean, exactly.
A number of us have posted high satisfaction with this monitor.
All monitor purchases involve rolling the dice, initially. One poster even went through four NEC PA241W-BK's without success. If you're not prepared to take the chance of an exchange or two...
