I'm still not sure. It's a nice case, but for that price point and the required mods, I can't help but think that going with the Switch, Raven, or even a Fractal Define XL would be more economical.
Okay. I forgot to ask this before; how are they with air cooling. I know they're known for running silent and being great for customization, but I never hear about Lian Li in air rigs.
hmm... A window is sort of mandatory for me. I saw one with a pre-modded window on frozencpu, but that was $300. The Raven looks nice, but I'm a bit apprehensive about the water options, even with the radiator.
I liked all of those cases really, but I do have some questions. Can the PC FNW-X support water cooling well? It looks like a smallish-mid. Is there a window available for the PC-A75X? How is water cooling in the RV02? I've heard some pretty mixed things. Also, how does the Switch 810...
Hey guys. I'm currently using a HAF 932 advanced, and I'm not liking it too much any more. I really don't care for the look of the case, and the cable routing seems hopelessly messy due to a lack of room behind the motherboard tray and the absence of grommets. I'm air cooling for now, but may...
You guys are right. It normally is an excellent idea, but in the MM case it isn't needed. The thing is so big and modular that I can either rip the d5 out the side of the case and cut the tubes or shoce a bucket in the case.
Thanks again guys. I just decided to go for it and WC the MM case. I went with a simple CPU loop consisting of an XSPC dual bay res, an ex360, a d5, and a raystorm block. I just used the Yate Loons that I had on the rad. It all works pretty well. I still haven't had time to oc it to its...
In short, yeah(The extended double wide). I got the thing at a super deep discount and have been running it on air for a few months, but with air, it's loud and dusty and pretty horrible. That's why I'm debating between selling it and throwing some water in it.
You have all given me a lot to think about. I don't have much in the way of noise to complain about, but I do worry about my temps come the summer, especially considering this is a 2011 build I'm talking about. I'll throw this in too; I have a MM extended ascention loaded with yate loons just...
I've been debating switching from air to water, and I want to know; how cost effective is it? I know that in the past water allowed for substancial overclocks bringing cheap CPUs beyond their higher priced counterparts for less cash, but now the equipment needed for liquid cooling seems...
Okay. It just seems to make a lot more sense to go with the 3930k. It just took some doing to bust the whole "it needs to be two Xeons to be a workstation" thing. Just curious, why not the revodrive? On paper it seems awesome.
That really isn't an option because I'm probably not going to get that money any time in the next few years. That's kind of the point of this build. Right now I'm really just weighing the 3930k with the ASUS Rampage IV and an additional 16GB of ram and a OCZ Revodrive 3 240GB against the two...
