Great article but in the comment section nobody want to mention the vega 64 and how overpriced and crappy that card is. Vega 64 was supposed to shine through Vulkan or DX12 or some magical fine wine drivers. some may even got fooled by these promises. I guess it's only cool if we trash Nvidia...
Great article but at page 16, you mentioned "Farcry 5 doesn't seem to be as demanding as Far Cry 4 was". if Farcry 4 has better Average and minimum frame rate on all three cards then how it is more demanding compare to Farcry 5???
Farcry 4 both looks better and runs better but people still...
Farcry 5 looks really dated. the game world is so dead that I can't get immersed in it and even performance is not that good for me. Farcry 4 looks much better and runs much better on my PC even with all the gameworks enabled.
Yeah, Vega is really a disaster for AMD. It has absolutely no strong point against the competition. price, power consumption, performance, overclock headroom, release date, production cost, availability are all at disadvantage for this GPU compare to GTX 1080 and if I'm not wrong it's the most...
It's really shocking that this card at Max OC consumes 55 watt more power than Max OC Asus ROG GTX 1080 strix which has double performance of this card!!! I wonder how it can be possible for a card to be this bad in power efficiency...
It would be really interesting to see 980ti vs Furyx or 970 vs 390 comparisons in your performance reviews. nowadays It's almost impossible to talk about Nvidia without somebody mentioning how bad Nvidia's GPUs age or how Nvidia gimp their older GPUs by not optimizing for them to force people to...
That benchmark is more than 2 years old. now Battlefield 4 runs far better on DX11.
Direct3D 11 vs. Mantle - Battlefield Hardline Performance Video Card Review
Battlefield 4 - AMD Radeon R9 Fury X Video Card Review
Remember AMD invested millions of dollars to implement mantle on frostbite 3...
Now Mantle runs worse than DX11 on all AMD GPUs including 290x. low level APIs need long time support from developers. do you really believe developers will support their games years after release?
Play battlefield 4 with both DX11 and mantle then come back and tell me what gave you the better performance. Low level APIs are not suitable for PC gaming and battlefield 4 with mantle is another example to prove that.
Another disappointing result from DX12. The Problem is, low level APIs push too much work onto developers, not only you have to optimize for each GPU variant from each GPU vendor but you have to manage VRAM yourself and It requires immense investment and no developer can afford to spend such...
