Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just looked up your case. Is this it?
I might be tempted to try losing the side intake fan (temps permitting) and replace all of the other 80mm fans with a Nexus.
A regular XP-90 would certaily weigh less than the copper unit or the Zalman. This is one of the reasons that I have one on my 3200 Venice. It works quite well with a 92mm Nexus fan.
I also chose the Zalman VF700-Cu for my 6800GT. It's only marginally heavier than the stock copper setup...
Sadly, this is the case...the Vantec that I linked to barely fits.
Any solution for the MSI board has to be thin in order to fit under longer video cards, and small enough in diameter so as not to interfere with the pci-e latch.
Those MSI chipset fans are crap. The fan on my Neo4 Platinum started making the same noise you're describing...almost right away, and died on me not long after that.
I replaced mine with this. The Vantec is no work-of-art, but the quality is so much better than what came on the board...
gamerdan1, your build looks very good.
However, you are putting quite a bit of money into the case/PSU, if you go with what you have listed. You could save a few bucks and use it elsewhere (more RAM, etc.), unless you're absolutely stuck on that setup.
Also, you will enjoy the 74GB...
I carry my computers outside, take off the panels, and blast away with compressed air.
I use a new Swiffer duster to gently remove any dust on my LCDs. I don't know what the hell "juice dots" are, but I would use a very soft cotton or microfiber cloth dampened with water only to clean that.
The system that I'm using the Chaintech motherboard in has got to be the most stable computer I've ever owned or worked on. It's been flawless, really.
A friend of mine has a Tiger Direct combo that uses the same MB. His hasn't been running long, but I don' t think he's having any issues.
The Chaintech 7NJL6 has been a very good board for me...very stable. No vcore adjustment or temp monitoring. But, since you're not going to overclock, this motherboard might be worth looking at.
Count me amongst the unlucky ones. I won't go into alot of detail, but I have the Neo4 Platinum and wish that I had purchased something else.
If I had it to do over again, I would choose from these:
