I would check the AMD APU and look at some used parts. I think you can get a bigger bang for your buck looking at socket 1150 or even used AMD since they have been out so long. There just not much of a difference between the last few generations of CPUs and GPUs

I agree. I know in my industry we have not kept pace with inflation and every year my buying power keeps falling. We are slowly killing the middle class by not standing together but instead stabbing each in the back to try to get ahead. At the end of the day it is up to us not the ritch.

For 1440p you need a new CPU and video card. For a video card I probably wait or get something used. For CPU an i5 or i7. I would get the i7 k version and see how it plays and see what AMD comes out with. If 1440p is really bad with the CPU still get something used. I don't think there is much...

What do you do with it? Maybe get a laptop? Being portable is nice. I don't see upgrading your current system you spend more then it's worth. You can buy a used system or build one under $500.
