So I got a brand new 2709w A04 manufactured in 2/10. I have been able to bring up the test menu where the monitor cycles through the colors full screen. When evaluating the full screen color, where should the brightness be set?
Thanks...

Well, Dell has the 2709w on sale for $699 so I bought a brand new one.

Hello All,
I just returned a defective used Dell 2709w that I got a good deal on (I now know why) and have resumed using a Dell s2409w. I noticed that the S2409w is a bit sharper (text) but I really miss the size of 27" due to my aging eyes. I am also considering a 30" but from what I have...
Heelix,
Ideally, I am looking for text a little larger than default on 2709w. There are some deals on used and refurb 3007s but on the 2709w. In fact, I can get a used 3007 for about $100 more than a 2709w.
When you drop native resolution from 2550x1600 on your 3007, to say something...
I have never seen a 2408. I do like the 2709w. I like everything about other than the touchscreen controls and a little too much red. I am thinking about a 2707wfp but I like the idea of having addition DVI inputs. So I am not sure I could go back to 24". I think 27" or 30". Do the new...
I guess I could manipulate FireFox but I heard it is better to let the website do the scaling....
So maybe a 2408 and set the browser's font size vs. 2709w and let the site scale?
I forgot to mention that image quality, color quality and sharpness do matter to. If I didn't find the widescreen beneficial, I would not have upgraded from my CRT. I was thinking about buying a used Sony 24" CRT but I think that is a little impractical now days.
I do sit more than an...
Hello All,
I am 45 years old with aging vision - I need reading glasses for reading newspapers and magazines but don't use anything while using the PC. I generally use my PC (Intel Duo Core E6550 and GeForce 8600GT or 9500GT, Windows XP Pro) for surfing the web, and MS Office Docs - Word...
A bunch of pixels start to sparkle, especially in dark areas which are close to light areas. In other words, on black text with a white background. It was mainly on vertical parts of letters or other objects, and in various places on a picture.
I guess this monitor has the same issue that...
The green dots appear on pictures and captions of webpages.
When looking at an eBay page, the ad will be clear but if the picture of the item contains a black device, there will be green dots flashing on the parts of the black item.
If I power cycle the monitor, initially on power up...
I just got a used 2709W A01 today. I am using a Gigabyte 8600GT @ 1920x1200 native, Windows XP Pro SP3. I am migrating from a highend Trinitron CRT so I am relatively new to LCDs but have been using a Dell S2409w on the same PC for a week or so.
For the most part the 2709w is stunning...
