Physx on XP with ATI + Nvidia Physx

OK, well while the PhysX control panel insists i have no PhysX acceleration and i can't run the fluid demo... I can run warmonger at 1680x1050 max settings, over 60fps. before i put in the 9500GT i was lucky to get 20fps at 1440x900 all minimum. So there's some physx going on in there...

Physx on XP with ATI + Nvidia Physx

It's been done by a bunch of review sites, but none of them actually show how. i'm working on it with my HD4850 and 9500GT - it is possible, i have both of them working as GPUs, but the PhysX software seems to be ignoring the 9500. I'm going to run around and try some other PhysX drivers...

ATI and NVIDIA in same rig?

Har de har, yet another reason to NOT "upgrade" to vista. Long live Windows XP! (Vista suffers from "good enough" syndrome - XP is good enough, so why upgrade?) --neg

a PCI 8600GT?! (yes you heard me!)

Yeah I know, I got my PCI standards mixed up. oops :P and PCIe 1.1 is only 250MB/sec, 2500Mbit or 250MByte (WHY CANT THEY AGREE ON A STANDARD O_O)

a PCI 8600GT?! (yes you heard me!)

The PCI bus has an effective transfer rate of around 133MB/sec - PCIe 2.0 is 500MB/sec on a 1x bus, 250MB/sec for 1.1. The 8600GT would probably overfill a PCI bus, but considering that its fine with a x1 1.1 slot, I dont see what people are worrying about. Ohwell, i has an ECS passive 8600GT...

Wake On Lan for example Air Conditioner?

They have single-phase service, but most of the ones i've seen have two phases going in - half the plugs are hooked to one of the phases, the other half to the other phase. So it's still one-phase power, but the INSTEON signals can't transfer to the other single-phase line. The phase couplers...

a PCI 8600GT?! (yes you heard me!)

I'd imagine it would still be adequate to use it as a PhysX PPU, given that the original dedicated PhysX PPU Card was PCI and equivalent in performance to an overclocked 8500GT. This card's sole purpose seems to be as a PPU card, that's what i'd use it for. --neg

Wake On Lan for example Air Conditioner?

Well hey thar. The closest you're going to get is hooking it up to an INSTEON system (sadly quite expensive) with a controller plugged into a computer. you can then run several different apps that will allow you to remotely control it via webserver etc. Unfortunately it does not come...
