On the hunt after doing my homework

I arrived at a similar conclusion a month ago. The only 20" S-IPS glossy widescreen I know of is the NEC 20WMGX2, but it's about $630 right now. You have to pay to play. Having used a bunch of matte S-IPS LCDs compared to the NEC, I'd say the biggest differences are in small details, color...

    Good 23" - 24" Glossy Screen?

I've done some looking around but it seems there aren't any 23-24" screens with S-IPS panels and glossy finishes. Can anyone confirm this or is there a unit I overlooked?

How common is the blue/red vertical lines on the 215TW?

Are there any screenshots that show this blue/red line thing? Is it an actual full blue/red line somewhere on the screen, or just a vertical area that is tinted blue or red? I am inquiring because I have another monitor (an NEC) that I believe exhibits a similar problem. I think the left...

New NEC 20WMGX2!!! (Pics inside 56K)

I exchanged it. No stuck pixels and the audio quality is much better now.

NEC 20WGX2 complete shit for photos?

With the out of the box 20WGX2 settings (I like my brightness at 100%; I would make it brighter if I could) I see gray at RGB(3, 3, 3) from the first post test. This is identical to the Viewsonic and Dell (2007FPW) monitors I tried earlier.

New NEC 20WMGX2!!! (Pics inside 56K)

Decided to take a chance on this screen. 1 stuck blue pixel in the center that I see against dark images and I'm not sure how I feel on the gloss factor just yet. Anyone who has a dark desktop background or anyone who watches a lot of movies with dark scenes might see more of their reflection...

    Dell 2007wfp vs Viewsonic vx2025wm

Thanks for the images. We need more posts like that. I am particularlly interested in colors on the Dell. I currently have the viewsonic and no matter how much I play with it the colors still seem very slightly off from what I am used to (Apple iMac builtin display).

How good/bad is the S-PVA version of the 2007FP?

Is there also a lottery with the Dell 2007fpw? I was under the impression that was only an S-IPS panel.

    LG L204WT: 5ms and 2000:1 contrast

Exchange it for a new one, don't open it, then go back a couple days later and get a refund on an unopened item.

    LG L204WT: 5ms and 2000:1 contrast

Yes, but I don't have Windows (nor will I be able to install it for a while) Do you suppose settings would be similar for all monitors of this type?

    LG L204WT: 5ms and 2000:1 contrast

My colors seem to be very off even after attempting calibration for a couple hours. Out of the box, light blues look a little too purple. I compensate for that and orange looks brown. I compensate for that and white gets a red tinge. I've tried a few calibrations but they don't seem to...

    LG L204WT: 5ms and 2000:1 contrast

This is a good point. When I went to pick up mine I feared a bad pixel. I asked them if I could bring it back for exchange without a restocking fee. They actually told me yes. Came from a manager. I felt either they didn't know their policy or were just telling me that to get me to buy it...

    LG L204WT: 5ms and 2000:1 contrast

Yeah, I noticed they raised on the 10th, too. Although, strangely they would not take the coupon and the online deal in store: they said I could only use the price online or the coupon. I was considering citing someone here who used both, but didn't really know how to respond. The coupon was...
