    I need to find out if the 24" Apple Cinema Display (2008) uses a PWM LED backlight. If you have this particular monitor - could you try using a digital camera (on video record mode) to see if there is any strobing/flickering effect ? Much appreciated.

    Great thanks - I realise there isn't much out there. One thing I just noticed was that this model (and a few others) use "Professional" P-IPS, which is apparently just a version of H-IPS. Makes sense because the majority of cheaper IPS monitors are AH-IPS, which looks more similar to S-IPS.

    Ok.. fair point! 8bit or 8bit+FRC is ok. Just trying to avoid 6bit+FRC. I jumped from an 8bit(+FRC?) to a 6bit+FRC and I can see a bit of a downgrade.

    Hallelujah! I'm sure 1440p is good for something.. Photo editing, gaming etc. - but I find it hard to believe these 16:9 monitors were designed with text work in mind. Trying convincing the masses though, it's impossible.

    Hi Astra, you didn't list this pic which was in your photo bucket album, could you tell us which model this is ? I thought personally, this pic had less subpixel noise than the pic of S2415H text. I also think the text on the U2415 pic looks better - smoother edges if you will.
