Hi, I´ve just started OCing my Q6600 and got into a problem reading the correct temp from my core...
Im using ASUS Probe, CoreTemp and Speedfan. The three of them show different temps.
Asus Probe = 35º
CoreTemp = 45º
SpeedFan = 26º
Any help appreciated!!
They both have FSBs, you can choose to OC both, or just lock the mem to find a stable CPU FSB and then OC the mem. You can choose a linked mode that goes from 1/1 to whatever you like ( 5/8 2/3 etc)
That is correct. That chipset (P35) is a really good ocer mb.
Overclocking is like tuning a car. It comes with a stock HP, but if you start increasing its compression ratio it will deliver more HP (raise FSB). There will be some point that the fuel will start to counter-explode (stop POSTing), thats where you need to use a higher octane fuel (raise vcore)...
fast way to know which way the fans are blowing? throw little pieces of paper from the outside... if they are blown inside then turn that fan the other way and point the 120mm to blow in that direction! :D
Can I ask you why are you trying those ratios? First find the stable FSB and THEN play with the memories...try using 1:1 ratio with those FSBs... and put all the memory configs to auto first.
Hi, Im want a 8800GTS 640Mb and have a little question, on TG you can get the XFX in 3 different versions... the Stock, Extreme and XXX.... from I can see they are all the same hard but OCed differentyl right?
Should I save $30 and get the stock version and OC it myself??
I am a noob OCer but I can tell right now that you can go all the way to 333Mhz with your FSB with your Q6600... in fact you start from 266Mhz!!
Just read the stickied thread on this forum, its just a 10 minute read that will guide you to Ocing a Q6600 with a lot, and I mean A LOT of info to...
man.. I never looked it in that way. You are SO right. Im spending 1500 on the whole PC and trying a bargain on one of the most imporant parts... :(
THANKS!!!
I know the Ultra 120 Extreme is THE HSF, but it cost about u$s80 and the Masscool is only u$s25!
Thats why Im asking if anyone tried it or know if it is good enough :)
