Is this P5E-VM HDMI board bad? Help appreciated.

It was an Antec Earthwatts 380. Before I get flamed for such a small PSU, the only thing in the box was the motherboard, ram, hd, and DVD burner. Not a single PCIe card. Its about as stripped down as you can get. No GPU, using integrated graphics. Seems to be doing ok now without the DVD...

Is this P5E-VM HDMI board bad? Help appreciated.

Well, I finally found out what the problem was. Marginal power supply. Its fine at stock speed, but OC just a little and its put on the edge. I finally got to the point where I could crash the system on demand by clicking My Computer and forcing the DVD drive to spin up. The extra current...

Is this P5E-VM HDMI board bad? Help appreciated.

I think I have a bad Asus P5E-VM HDMI board. I am using an C2D Intel E4500 processor. It seems to run fine at stock CPU and stock DDR-2 800 memory speeds using 4 1gb Crucial Ballistix 12864AA804 memory sticks which are listed on the Motherboard docs as verified compatible. Admittedly I am...

Asus P5E-VM HDMI: best matx ever?

Yes, it should still beep with all ram removed. Make sure you have a speaker in your case and it is connected. Otherwise, just steal one out of another computer and try that. There is nothing on the motherboard to make any noise if you do not have an external speaker hooked up. Mike.

Asus P5E-VM HDMI: best matx ever?

My system just freezes. No error message ever. Never freezes in Bios setup, just in one of the memory tests. I usually am using memtest86+ v1.7. Have you tried to pull all the ram and see if you get the beep codes for no ram detected? They are listed in manual under the first time you power...

Asus P5E-VM HDMI: best matx ever?

Allsop, on post 259 you said you were having problems with your Crucial Ballistix memory and the P5E-VM HDMI motherboard. I am running the same motherboard with a 2 stick kit of Ballistix BL2KIT12864AA804 memory and I have also been having a lot of problems. Each stick tests just fine...
