    Dell UP3017Q - 4K 120HZ Oled 30"

Have you already received your Dell UP3017Q? Thanks.

    Dell 8K 32" monitor

I suspect Vega meant that demo videos are specifically created for the purpose of demonstrating advantages of specific technology: e.g. to show deep blacks of OLED, corresponding videos primarily contain large black backgrounds, while LCD-oriented videos may contain much less blacks and more...

    Dell 8K 32" monitor

Just set OS-level zoom to 400%, and text will have the same size as on FHD, just incredibly smooth and clear.

    Dell UP3017Q - 4K 120HZ Oled 30"

I always run a screensaver (fwiw, the homemade WhiteScreen) manually each time I go away from my PC. With OLED, the only screensaver actually needed is black screen. ;-) Needless to say, relying on automatic start of a screensaver after some time leads to unreasonable burn-in corresponding to...

    Dell UP3017Q - 4K 120HZ Oled 30"

I’m curious where is the exhibition sample now. It certainly exists, and some people would probably like to buy it regardless of any drawbacks.

    Dell UP3017Q - 4K 120HZ Oled 30"

So that was just a purely PR thing. I’m happy that I’m an OLED user (Tab S 10.5) for already two years, and nobody can cancel that. I suspect an OLED monitor is a good candidate for crowdfunding. ^_^ I would even be fine with a 21-inch 5K monitor made of four Galaxy Tab S 10.5 displays.

    Dell 8K 32" monitor

Not at 4:4:4 chroma unfortunately. Real bandwidth of DP 1.4 is the same as that of DP 1.3. And DP 1.4’s compression is obviously lossy anyway. It did: Looks familiar, eh? ;-)

    Dell 8K 32" monitor

Another piece of vapourware like the last year’s UP3017Q not actually released after a year?

    Dell UP3017Q - 4K 120HZ Oled 30"

There is a chance that 17 in the model name means the year the monitor is going to be really released on. I’m looking forward what OLED monitors are going to be showcased at upcoming CES 2017.

Broken special characters in pre-new-forum comments

KazeoHin This is an undesired side effect that literally corrupts text and makes it hard to read and that could almost certainly be avoided if to be aware about it. So now those responsible are at least informed. ;-)

Broken special characters in pre-new-forum comments

New forum design is quite nice, but some special characters in past comments (added before switching to the new design) have been broken as a result. For example, the ’ character has been converted to the ’ entity. Fortunately, I personally have not as much comments, and editing comment...

    Dell P2715Q / P2415Q (3840x2160p, IPS, sRGB)

For what it’s worth, those using a 4K monitor with Windows 7 at zoom of 200% and suffering from Windows Explorer’s bug that causes wrong lengths of address bar (very short) and search box (almost entire window width) can work around the issue with the new free program ExplorerHiDpiFix that...

    PS4 on a 4K monitor.

AFAIK, there is currently no 4K monitor that has scaling-by-multiplying behavior implemented for divisible resolutions. So even 1080p is scaled to 2160p with undisableable filtering that results in somewhat blurry image anyway. For computers, this could theoretically be fixed on GPU-driver level...

    Dell P2715Q / P2415Q (3840x2160p, IPS, sRGB)

MST in P2415Q/P2715Q monitors is solely used for serial connection of two monitors via a single connection to computer (both monitors will have halved 30-Hz refresh rate in this case). If you don't intend to connect a second monitor to your first one, and the P2415Q/P2715Q monitor is the only...
