Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I am having very similar problems with an 1680-ix8, HP SAS, Norco 4224 and 15xHitachi 7200RPM (older drives) [Raid6] + 9 x Hitachi 5300RPM (newer drives) [Raid6].
I also see time outs and then 'device removed' warnings for anywhere between 1 and 4 drives. Sometimes the drives are on the same...
Thanks for your help!
The power supply is a Corsair HX750W 750-Watt Modular Power Supply - Single +12V Rail Design.
I was using it with the 24 raid-ed drives, 2 SSDs and then 2 7200RPM seagate drives I had left over.
There's a total of 7 fans (including CPU). I'm using the onboard...
I have an ARC-1680 in a Norco 4224.
I'm using a 750w corsair power supply.
Periodically I see the following in my areca logs (and the beeper sounds):
2011-06-18 12:47:53 Ctrl DDR-II 0.9V Recovered
2011-06-18 12:47:23 Ctrl DDR-II 0.9V Under Voltage
I'm wondering what this means and...
Well, don't know why it suddenly started working, but now it is resizing the volume. Exactly the same steps as before (when it claimed it was modifying the volume, but really wasn't). I did reboot my machine so perhaps that sorted out the gremlins. Smells of some buggy code somewhere in there...
I'm struggling with expanding a volume set. I've gone from an 8x2tb disk raid 6 array (12,000GB capacity) to an 11x2tb raid 6 array (18,000GB capacity). Raid expansion went fine, but I cannot seem to get the areca card to 'action' the volume set expansion.
Each time I change the volume set to...
In-store only presumably? Seems to be 130$ online with shipping 'unavailable'
I need 8 of these babies but they never hit anything less than about 120$/drive online (that I have seen thus far).
FWIW, I'm using the 1680ix-8 (firmware v1.48) with the HP SAS expander (firmware 2.06) and hitachi 7K2000 drives on a Tyan motherboard (http://www.tyan.com/product_board_detail.aspx?pid=645) without issue, connected internally (though I bought an external cable just in case - haven't needed it...
Thanks Odditory for your guidance. I also discovered another thread on here yesterday along the same lines as mine where you posted about the default 4k allocation unit size in windows server 2008 R2. I fear I have made the same mistake and thus I will be scuppered when it comes to resizing the...
hello.
Stupid question. I have a 1680ix-8 in a Norco 4224 enclosure, hooked up to 6 x 2tb drives. I added 2 more 2tb drives over the weekend and expanded the raid set during the week (it took an age).
Finally, the raid set is expanded, but I notice that the underlying volume did not increase...
Thanks for the report - very disappointing though :(
I hadn't noticed the change, nor read anything about that on AVS or here... Now some smart alec points it out on AVS.... sigh.
