The way the fins of the CPU cooler are aligned i'd say the airflow is blocked by the ram and the shield behind the HDMI connectors. Woun't it be better to turn the noctua by 90° so the airflow goes up/down?

Well, with prices for graphic cards during summer i had not much possibilities. CPU is not the problem, i get the same values with my i5-7600 + l9i. The ASUS STRIX 1070 OC on the other hand is a PITA with a hell of noise curve. :/

Just got a reply from cablemod - their guys cannot build the cables so that the other retention clip is on the opposite side. Bummer, looks like i'll have to do that by myself.
