Yes, the display is upside down. The LCD panel with the front bezel is at the bottom.

Yes, pry between the silver stripe and the front black bezel. Here is an image showing the separated front bezel and its clips.

You can remove the front bezel with a knife. The bezel is held by plastic clips. It's not easy though, you have to apply some force. Its best to start near the top left corner (but not the one with the controls) Be careful not to break it. :) Why do you want to take it apart? You'll loose...

Livestrong7, very cool setup, congratulations. btw, it may sound odd, but if you remove the front plastic bezel and the black plastic, you can still use the mount (because the mount holes are attached to the internal metalic frame of the display), and you'll end up with a much thinner...

Here is my work setup in the office. It's a MBP 13" 2.66 (with 128Gb SSD) + a Dell U2711 27" display with the glossy mod (AG coating removed). The MBP is the same as on my home setup pic.

Very nice setup. The U2711 looks nice next to the iMac. I have a glossy U2711 at the office for my MBP, its really a great display, it is well suited for Macs. It can receive digital audio and WQHD resoltuion over a single displayport from 2010 MBPs. If you do the glossy mod, its screen will...

Artificiary, do not forget to post your results. I think doing this with a 30", you'll be be a first timer. Ashok0, IMHO the AG coating is the same obvious in a dark room because of the sparky, grainy appearance. But some actually like the AG coating, so you'll have to see and decide.

    Dell U2711

Yep, in case of most (but not all) LCD panels, the glue that holds the AG coating is water based, and the material of the AG coating usually (but not always) lets water through, so by soaking the AG coating, the water will loose up the glue, and you can simply remove the AG coating. After two...

    Dell IPS AG Coating : does the u2711 / 3008wfp / 3007wfp-hc / 2209wa share the same?

The previous generation Cinema Displays have AG coating. The current genration 24" Cinema Display has no AG coating, it has a glossy LCD panel inside + glass on top of the glossy LCD panel. Same for the 21.4" iMac and 27" iMac, or the previous generation 24" iMac. The 30" Cinema Display (which...

    Dell U2711

Ok, I think the U2711 is a great display even with AG coating on, so you should buy it, if you have the money, if you really don't like it, you can take it back during the return period. :) Also, AG coating will not bother 99% of the users. Maybe it was bothering me only, because I am using a...

    Dell IPS AG Coating : does the u2711 / 3008wfp / 3007wfp-hc / 2209wa share the same?

I donno about the U2311H, but here is a step by step guide for the U2711 (from memory, but hopefully fairly accurate): For more tutorials and advises on AG coating removal, please refer to the LumenLab forums.

    Dell IPS AG Coating : does the u2711 / 3008wfp / 3007wfp-hc / 2209wa share the same?

This is how the AG coating looks like (its a plastic sheet actually): This is how one can remove the AG coating after dissolving the glue between the LCD polarizer and the coating: This is how the AG layer's and its glue is soaked in the dissolvent (which is actually simply distilled water):

I think its a matter of preference. Some people actually like antiglare, some don't. I can live with antiglare, if it's not too blurry and does not have the 'rainbow' effect. According to my percepcion, the U2711 has a substandard AG coating, which makes the display unbearable for me, so I just...
