    I just bought a 2 GB Kingston SD card and when I formatted it in my card reader it formatted to 955 mb. When I go into disk management I can see that the card is 2 GB, but it is a 955 mb FAT formatted partition and 951 mb of unallocated space. I can't delete the partition in disk management...

    Hard drive has vanished!

    I had a simialr problem and what it ended up being was that the BIOS somehow wasn't autodetecting the drive. Don't know if you have checked that yet.
