Yesterday, in preperation for Team Fortress 2 action I decided to update my 8800GTS 320 to the latest forceware beta drivers for Vista.
During the install, my screen went black, as normal, but did not recover, the screen stayed blank. I left it alone for 10 minutes while the HDD kept...
Im up to 2.96Ghz now and around 1.8V. Ever now and then when booting up I lower the voltage by a notch and give an extra 5mhz bump to the FSB. It is slow and steady, but my goal was only to get to 2.4Ghz, so everything else is slowing increasing in speed gravy. :D
..............You are getting performance that exceeds that of a $1000 chip and you want something more?
Man, some people are greedy. The fact that it overclocks at ALL should satisfy you. I would only return if it wasnt working at STOCK speeds. If it doesnt work OC then tough luck. If...
Im up to 2.88Ghz right now, so far so good. I really think I will be able to hit 3Ghz soon.
Im doing it slow and steady. About 10mhz increase per boot up and using it.
Coming from a Socket A? Hell yeah you will notice a difference.
I upgraded from an Athlon XP 3500+ to an E6400 OC'd now to 2.88Ghz and the difference, even at stock speeds was astounding.
Ohhh.
Anyway I believe it is a media issue. I got home last night, checked the IDE channel and it is set to DMA Mode 5, (automatic selection) and I tried a different CD-R brand.
It burned without a problem.
So this leads me to believe that after 2 successive bad burns from the same...
Not yet, this was just after trying it last night.
When I get back home I am going to find some other blanks and even try a DVD data burn. It would be cool if it was just crappy media, but it has burned to this same media out of the same stack a few months ago.
Just upgraded to my new system as listed in specs. Up to 2.8Ghz, no system lock ups, freezes or crashes. SuperPi and Prime 95 are all great.
I tried copying a CDR last night for the first time in a long long time. I am running Nero 7 and a Pioneer 109 DVD burner. It copies the data to the...
I am having the strangest issue.
So far I am at 2640Mhz, rock solid in superpi, dual prime and temps stay below 60C, I can play WoW for hours and not have a hiccup.
But, none of the Gigabyte applications will run. Even before I overclocked. I installed EazyTune or whatever that is called...
Ive got mine OCd to 2640Mhz now, I just havent had time or the patience to do a 4 hour dual prime yet. I can 32M SuperPI and the 30 minutes I did spend I got no errors. I dont think I am gonna push it past this till I get a better cooler I am sure it can do more, but I dont wanna burn out.
OK, just got home and installed speedfan. Computer has been on for 8 minutes.
Idle, couple folders and a browser open,
Coretemp = 50C
Speedfan=38C
Run Orthos (dual prime 95, both programs register instant temperature increase)
Coretemp=66C
Speedfan=58C
Seriously, would the real...
