Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Honestly, having played BF3 on PC and Xbox 360, it is VERY clear the game was made for PC.
While the PC version has its issues (Origin, for one), the actual game itself is infinitely more suited for PC than the Xbox. The Xbox game feels like a port, and an obvious attempt to force the game to...
Hello!
I just added a second video card to my brand new machine (2600k, GTX 580 x2 in SLI now, 1250w PSU) and now the lights flicker in my room while playing some games.
The flickering lights correspond directly with the game I am playing dipping in FPS, or struggling to render the scene...
Hello!
I am posting a follow up in this forum to a thread I had going in the General Hardware forum about a new build I am making (reference here for full story: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1642804)
Short story: I am after a large increase in performance for my new system going...
...one more thing, about the CPU cooler...
Would I benefit from something like a Antec KUHLER H2O 920 or CORSAIR H80? An extra $50 for a CPU cooler that allows me to OC further or at drastically lower temperatures would be money well spent I think.
Damn, I'm caught in a bit bind here.
The main reason I was looking forward to this build was getting some extreme disk performance when compared with 2x WD Raptor 300gb that is in my current machine.
Obviously any SSD is going to slaughter the random read / write times and sequential read...
Wow, this is fantastic Danny Bui. Thank you!
Got it with the motherboard. I don't see a reason why, looking at the specs, to get anything other than your suggestion of the Asus P8Z68-V Pro Intel Z68 ATX Motherboard (and save $150).
Great to hear the consensus with the RAM too, more...
I think I should also mention that I am upgrading from a 2x RAID 0 Raptor 300gb setup, and trying to really destroy the performance I got with those things.
Okay great, got it on the RAM. Thank you!
For the SSD, would a single Crucial M4 256GB be the same performance wise? (assuming the other ones work, as you point out there is reliability issues on them)
I basically just choose the motherboard to be overkill on purpose, for if I do a 2-way...
Any reason why you wouldn't raid the SSDs?
I have heard of performance issues with raiding SSDs, but also read in the HardOCP "NAND Flash Faces Off - Synchronous vs. Asynchronous" article this tid-bit:
"Given the pricing shown above, you are up to roughly $450 with two drives giving you...
Introduction and Background:
Okay, provocative thread title aside (now that I have all you sickos)...
I am building a new machine for myself for gaming, work, and general living on. I am hyper sensitive and borderline OCD (the other side of the border) when it comes to performance and...
It looks to be darker colors, I just did some testing now.
For example, with the Hardocp website in a browser maximized, the buzzing is very loud. If I have like Google open, which is almost all white, the buzzing is gone.
Playing most games there is no buzzing at all (probably a lot of...
