Im trying to setup a trunk from GNS3 router in Ubuntu11.10, router on a stick to a real 3550 switch.
works 100% with ISL, with 802.1q the trunk gets formed with ESXi not the Dynamips router

When I try to do router on a stick using encap 802.1q from my 3550 to a gns3 dynamics router its does not work I get encamp fail when seending traffic.. i noticed that the switch is actually trunking...
Ok I got everything working but using 2 hyper visors.
I now have the entire gns3 INE Ccie lab running . Esxi 5 2 Ubuntu 11.10 vm
2 hyper visors each connection to real networks and wan links.
All work 100%. CPU usage about 30%.
I put R5, BB2 and BB3 in visor 2 ..that freedup...
ya that was me.
well I finally mapped all my ports to real NIC..so thats done..
I gave up on the passthrough option could not make it work..
But I was able to run 2 hypervisors ( 1 per VM) and bind the real NiC of both VM..
the only way to do the NIO on the "2nd Hypervisor" was to do it in...
I will be using this to simulate a CCIE lab.
Using GNS3.
If I don't use Passthrough then I have to create 1 Vswitch per Port. and that creates a Virtual MAC per port. And I am to sure how it will re-act will line protocols issues etc..Also Limit of 10 per VM.. I need 12.
