Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Built a modest 15Tb ESXi AIO using OpenIndiana and Napp-It. Total usable space is just under 11Tb, running in a RaidZ configuration with 10% overflow protection. I also have a 1Tb local storage disk, and I plan on adding another 1Tb in a pool of mirrored Vdevs for VM storage.

Ah!
So, as they say in the federal government, why build one when you can build TWO for twice the price! In this case, I use a 2nd iSCSI vswitch to handle external AIO host or other physical machines that require access to the SAN. I use the first iSCSI vswitch to handle the needs of the...
What about if you wanted to use SAN both as an AIO as well as on a physical network? If the SAN is only serving the ESXi host, that is fine and well. BUT...what happens when you add more than one ESXi host? How do you configure a second ESXi host to use the same shared storage area network...
Here is an example of the two HA multipaths I was mentioning. I want to know how you could do 'this' is an AIO.

I guess what I'm trying to understand is how the network configuration is different for an AIO vs a standalone SAN.
So for example, on a stand alone SAN, I see two popular network configurations. One involves configuring two sets of VMKerel ports on a single vswitch. The switch is teamed...
If your looking at Supermicro-based system, I would suggest buying a board that has an LSI SAS controller on-board. It will cut down the amount of additional cards you have to buy.
Hello All,
I am somewhat of a newbie when it comes to virtualization. In particular if your building out an enviornment from the ground up. I am in the process of building an AIO. I have a question about the SAN portion of the AIO...specifically the network configuration.
Assuming the...
