PSU is not the problem for me. I am using ATX PSU so I have enough room in that area.
Only concern for me is that VRM heatsink, because it is much larger in ASUS Z370i than in my current ASUS Z170i Pro Gaming.

I have Samsung 950 Pro 512GB on the back of my Asus Z170i and I haven't had any issues what so ever. Temps are around 45-50'C in the normal use and 58'C when gaming.
I have 140mm intake fan at the bottom so there is some airflow behind the motherboard too.
I have Demciflex filters too and I noticed the same thing. At the moment I have installed only the bottom filter since I have intake fan in there. I think it's better to install filters only to inflow areas. There's no point to block the outflow.
