How many years before real time rendering of cinema quality special effects?

I think something else has to be taken into account, the sheer amount of work needed to input all the relevant data for any given scene. The world is incredibly complex, and the time it would take to model this versus having to get a product out to the public seems insurmountable to me.

    The "Official" 8400 OC thread

If you are asking me, then no i didn't the ram is pc8500 and if running at full speed 1066 mhz then it needs 2.1 volts but as it is running at 846 mhz i found i could drop the volts to 1.8 and still have a stable system, which helps keep the heat down.

How many people are planning on upgrading (to R700 or G200)?

I think the the cost of the Nvidia cards may prove a little off putting, given in the UK they will cost a shit load of cash, but if they outperform the ATI offerings by a good margin, and the ATI cards dont have much of a leap over current Nvidia cards then i may have to treat myself and blow a...

    Why dont people use vsync?

I use it all th time, you just cant beat the smooth rock steady image you get with it, makes things look so much more solid, i really cannt stand the horrible rippling/tearing and general roughness of the screen without it.
