NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Played some X-Plane 11 today at pretty high settings. CPU and GPU temps hovered around 50 degrees C, Noctua radiator fans stayed nice and quiet (fan curve at about 50% at those temps). Nice. But the PSU fan (Corsair SF450) was getting pretty loud and annoying. Reviews (like this one) seem to...

Alternatively, you could flip the drive top-bottom and route the SATA cable from the bottom.

Thanks...and cool looking arm for custom water loops. But wasted on my setup, as I will always have the original left panel installed (I also switched OFF all the colored mobo LEDs)

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Finished my build this weekend. My main objective was to keep things quiet, so I went with a dual AIO solution: - Corsair H75 for CPU - EVGA 1080Ti SC2 HYBRID for GPU The PSU has been mounted with the fan as intake. It was a bit tricky to maneuver the AIO tubing to a point where it all fit OK...

AIO 1080 Ti: EVGA SC2 Hybrid or MSI Sea Hawk X

What was I thinking? Did not find this adapter before, but that will indeed be far more logical. Unfortunately my build is on hold, because my ASUS Strix Z270i Gaming motherboard will not POST with a memory stick plugged into slot A1. Will have to wait for a Newegg replacement. Also, I just...

AIO 1080 Ti: EVGA SC2 Hybrid or MSI Sea Hawk X

I started my M1 build and am installing a Panasonic UJ8C5 slot-loading DVD reader/burner that has a mini SATA connector. Has anyone found an adapter that has mini SATA on one end, with a regular SATA connector and a 6-pin PCIe power plug on the other end? I can only find one that has a Molex...

AIO 1080 Ti: EVGA SC2 Hybrid or MSI Sea Hawk X

Probably less of an issue for me as I don't want to get into OC at all, but I appreciate the advice.

Cool, thanks for sharing. That is definitely one of the more packed builds I have seen so far. You included a LOT of storage. Are you using this as a NAS or Media Server?

AIO 1080 Ti: EVGA SC2 Hybrid or MSI Sea Hawk X

I have decided I will go for a Hybrid AIO cooled 1080 Ti card as that will help reduce case temps in my tiny Ncase M1. The EVGA SC2 HYBRID Gaming card seems to have a nice solution for directing the VRM heat to the water block (see this tear-down on Gamers Nexus). But if I understood...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

That looks great! It looks like you're using Corsair H75 for CPU... and is that a 1080 hybrid card, or a 1080 Ti? How are your noise levels with the Phantek fans?

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

That makes sense. FE card + Arctic Accellero III is close to the same cost as the Strix card by itself. Minus voided warranty of course. I'll let this stew for a bit...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Food for thought, I appreciate the feedback. I don't think I'll mind the extra noise of bottom fans as they won't spin that fast. I'll start without and take it from there. But tough choice on the Strix versus the EVGA SC BE, not sure yet what I'll end up doing there. Perhaps I should consider...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I appreciate the advice. I'll start with the minimal fan configuration like you suggested. Makes good sense, as I can always add bottom or rear if needed. Also appreciate the feedback on the 1080 Ti choice. I will post pics and stats once it's all done. Thanks!

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Howdy all...new member here. I read through this ENTIRE thread until my eyeballs spontaneously combusted. But learned a LOT, plus it was pure geek-porn. So thanks for the contributions so far, and I will add mine once I finish my build. I am getting my parts list ready for my M1 v5 build (case...
