2005FPW and Geforce4 Ti4600, will it work?
I can't imagine why not. I've actually driven a 2005 (in native res) with a 16MB Ati card (currently using a 32MB Radeon 9200). Still, best to check with the card's documentation or the manufacturer to be sure. -

New 2405 LCD "Whines"
I have very sensitive ears to high pitches, and the 2405 we have does have a whine to it, but is not that obtrusive, even for me. The vast majority of people would never be able to hear it. It is certainly possible yours is louder. I also have a dell 2005 and the new Gateway 21" and neither... -

Gateway's FPD2185W: a 21in widescreen 2005fpw killer!
Yup, I've been playing Pirates! at 1280*1024, stretched to fit vertically while maintaining the 4:3 ratio, with black bars on the sides (via DVI). Doing this was a simple click in the nVidia control panel on the LCD properties screen. I have not seen the custom timing screen alex mentioned. -

Hi folks (longtime lurker). No problems here at all with the 2185. DVI works great (w/ nVidia 6800 GTO) as does VGA (though I did note that text in Windows seemed blurrier with VGA). No buzzing (and my ears are very sensitive to those sorts of noises). No dead or stuck pixels that I have...
