Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I already did of course. According to diagram there doesn't seem to be a conflict but manual says m.2 and sata express are exclusive. It isn't clear if it is so in m.2 sata mode or m.2 pcie mode or both. I'm only interested in the individual 2 sata ports from the sata express connector, not the...
How can you get those ridiculous sata speeds on the Marvell controller? Unless i misread a WD Caviar black hdd was used in testing. It's just not possible. 500mb/s is high even for burst speed for hdds.
More likely Marvell uses driver cache mode, i have an older 9128/9130 controller and it has...
You can't know for sure how future proof are these platforms. Intel is changing them too often and it's a waste to always invest if you're not benefiting. Might as well do so now and maximize the potential of your great mb.
How many threads in Prime95? Can't see in the pic, should be 8 to fully load the cpu. Also 63W cpu package power suggests cpu is not taxed to the max, you may be using an old Prime95 version without avx support
AIDA v3.00 should fully support Haswell. Note that temp in bios is higher than in Windows because idle states are not active, so this is normal. Load temp is a bit suspicious though but not impossible if you're running stock speed and got lucky with a good cpu.
Smaller die, crappy tim or too much space between the die and ihs, etc. Whatever the reason, (i never stated one so i'm not sure exactly what you find untrue in what i said) Haswell DOES work at a higher temperature in load than SB and IB.
It also consumes more power in load than IB and about...
Now that Haswell is out and considering it brings only 15% over SB, runs even hotter than IB and overclocks poorly i'd say Sandy Bridge is definitely legendary. The heydays of overclocking may never return...
At the time i picked my current 2500k over 2600k because it offered better...
So Asus rep doesn't know the difference between RST and SRT?
RST = Intel Rapid Storage Technology
SRT = Smart Response Technology = SSD Caching
No wonder they don't update RST RAID OROM on P67, they think it's SSD Caching which is not supported on P67 anyway.
Definitely use wdidle3. I wouldn't disable the idle timer though, 300 seconds is more than enough to prevent high LCC count.
I use it on all my WD greens (EADS, EARS, EARX) with no problems, LCC is under 10k in over 2 years of utilization.
