Built pretty much the same system for my grandma a while back, same proc, different motherboard. It wasn't a vista build, xp works fine enough still and i didn't feel she needed it. Im sure even with the onboard it could run vista pretty well, just without all the aero bs.

foobar2000 has a nice batch convert feature, and is a great audio player as well!

Run a cord from the audio out on the computer without speakers to the line-in on the computer with speakers. Of course, you would have to keep the one with speakers always on.

That sound blaster is hard to find drivers for unless you have the original cd, i was able to find em through links on the creative forums (finally). you may want to say if you have the cd or not. Good prices on everything though!
