[Build Log] Lian Li PC-A75 + Xeon E5-2640s

The build has been delayed for another 8 to 10 days as I've had to order connectors for my PSU. The pins just wouldn't budge even with original Molex tool which in process led me to rip out a couple of wires. Hopefully after the connectors arrive the build will progress as planned.

[Build Log] Lian Li PC-A75 + Xeon E5-2640s

Unfortunately the PSU cables came up to be almost 8-9" shorter, thus I have ordered all black 18 AWG cable and molex crimps. So it looks like this project will feature custom made wiring however I will not be sleeving it.

[Build Log] Lian Li PC-A75 + Xeon E5-2640s

2640 are 6C/12TH @ 2.50Ghz, I planned on getting 2650/70s but I don't need that much power. Yes I did swap out the 2000D for 660, 200 dollar difference. 660 is just newer tech compared to the 2000D.

Update: Xeon E5s have arrived last night and I was quite shocked at way newegg shipped them. They literally were shipped in a bubble envelope, for something costing nearly 2k I expect better packing. Picture very related:

Could updating my BIOS cause a stable overclock to go unstable?

You could try to rollback the BIOS to the previous version. When I used to OC which I haven't done in a very long time, I would clear the OC settings before flashing and after I would apply the OC again. I know for a fact that back in the day ASUS motherboards did have stability issues if OC...
