    Thank you to all of you, its now working have done it at controller level using ACU. I have never used ACU before, I have always created raid at start up via f8 .... but this does not give you the option of creating mulitple logical drives like ACU ... thanks again. :-)

    NetJunkie, mmm vSphere 5 is looking very very pricey (amount of ram used), I am really wondering if our company is going to stick with vmware. Hopefully someone has done something similar and I will be able to use the drives I have. Failing that I will have to down size them.

    Wow, that was quick, thanks for the replys, but I dont think it can be chopped up at controller level. I am using a HP DL160 G6 with a P410 controller with 512Kb cache. Each of the drives are 2TB anyways. Here are the quick specs of the card...

    Hi I have installed ESXi4.1 on a usb stick and inserted it inside the server. The server has a raid 5 config with 6 TBs of storage. As we know Vmware will only see 2TB luns less 512B. How can I create luns on here? People mention extents is there a way this can be done. I am not to worried if it...
