Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I finally tried reseating the processor. One pin was very badly bent, and in the process of trying to straighten it, it broke off completely.
But...that did bump up my useable RAM to 5.75 GB. My guess is that the pin is essential to one of the RAM slots, and in the process of trying to...
I haven't reseated the processor or tried resetting the BIOS. I'll give resetting the BIOS a try next.
When installed in A1 and B1, 4GB installed, 1.75 usable.

Motherboard: Asus M5A88-M
RAM: 2GBx4 G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-4GBNQ (all four matching, 1333)
Win 7 64-bit
I added 2gbx2 to double my RAM; 8gb registers as installed, but only 3.75 usable (which is the same amount of usable RAM I had when I only had 4gb total).
I've tried all of the typical...
Yeah, I had initially figured ground wire, but then got the BSOD when trying to install the OS...twice. Not sure where else the problem could lie, since everything is new except the PSU and the DVD drive.
Hey all. I bought a Seasonic SS-500ES (OEM, from Newegg) about five or six months ago, and when transferring it into my new system yesterday, I noticed that it had a broken wire in the 24-pin ATX cable. Everything comes on fine, but I am having errors trying to do a fresh install of Windows on...
Current case is an Evercase
Tower cabinet is about 20" deep x 19.5" tall x 10.5" wide in full. I figure I would need a case not too much over 17.5" deep to leave room for cables, etc.
Hey all. I haven't done this in six years (moving on from an Athlon 64 3000+ system), so I'm very rusty. I was especially in WAY over my head when looking at all the options for a CPU. I've been happy with AMD, but could be persuaded to change. I'm kind of iffy on some of the things I'll be...
Well, I've been running on the D-Sub since I last posted here and it's been generally working fine for my purposes, but it is starting to give me a bit of trouble. Again, I'm not a gamer, but would like something AGP that would work very well for movies, and if possible, HD content. Oh, and...
From pretty much the moment I turned it on this morning, the whole screen was washed in pink and green, so I don't think it's a simple overheating issue.
EDIT: Seems to work fine with the D-Sub connection; the trouble was only with HDMI.
I did put the fan back on, but it's not spinning. I didn't mess with it any further than sticking it back on, though; is there anything else I could try?
What is a good program for checking temps? I know I used to have one, but can't seem to find it.
