    So what you're saying is that a bare gpu making no contact with the ek waterblock ran 45C. On top of that the gpu shut itself down after hitting out of speck temps? That's pretty cool, so no damage to the gpu and it functioned fine after reattaching the stock cooler?

    As long as you have internet and power it shouldn't be a problem to keep you rig in the basement. I wouldn't recommend a closet just because your radiator will need to breath to keep the gpu's nice and cool. That's a really nice open air case but if you have your rig setup for watercooling why...
