GTX 670 vs 2x GTX no difference in gaming

I was mostly happy with crossfire. 6950x2 seemed like a nice possibility of beating out a GTX 670 for the same price. I can certainly understand the single GPU lovers. There's obvious pros to that setup. But there's some uses for SLI and crossfire I think, for some users.

AMD Catalyst 12.8 is Now Available

Don't ever recall this level of issues with any Nvidia card I have owned, and I have been around the block a few times :)

AMD Catalyst 12.8 is Now Available

After going into sleep mode, I lost ability to play games when I resume. Starting games goes to black screen, with the only solution being to reset computer. i7 3770, Asus P8Z77V, 6950 (dual crossfire), Windows 7 - 64 bit To resolve, I have to disable crossfire. To get crossfire working...

    6950 xfire vs GTX 670

This was the best I did when messing around tonight - I am not sure if that was before or after I tried raising the base clock in BIOS. That was not stable, so I set base clock back to 100 Mhz (multipler is 43, which is best you can do without the K version of my CPU.)...

    6950 xfire vs GTX 670

One more question. I did finally get the 6950's to run at 6970 settings. But it seems to run hot, and it has that hot electronics smell. I see one issue...in crossfire, the one card blocks the other card's airflow quite a bit.

    6950 xfire vs GTX 670

Thanks. I have no issues thankfully. I have managed, I think, to get a stable, or mostly stable "overclock" such that the two 6950's spec like a 6970 ( 880 Mhz core, 1375 Mhz RAM clock, 1.175 V.) This has no useful goal other than bragging rights and entertainment, mind you. In fact, at...

    6950 xfire vs GTX 670

Hello, bumping this in case someone has any ideas. I think I overclocked my dual 6950 cards in crossfire as best I can, and some scores over at 3D Mark on the GTX 670 are beating me by quite a bit. Such as an extreme score of over 4000 for the GTX 670 vs mine around 3300 or so (forget exact...

Could this be a Virtu MVP enabled system explaining the higher than expected scre?

    6950 xfire vs GTX 670

How is my dual 6960 dominated so much by some single GTX 670s? I did not see scores in reviews like I see in a 3D Mark 11 search - Example... Mine http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3925490 Another person's benchtest http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3748822

Why must the i5 be so expensive?

I just know that an IB i5 seems to be a much better deal than the i7, which offers HT and more cache near as I can tell, without a lot more performance. If I had not had my heart set on one of the fastest processors under $400, the i7-3770, I would have gone with the unlocked ib i5. And if I...

Dirt 3 possibly slower than expected with dual 6950

Maybe it's not as bad as I thought. I paid about $450 for both cards (I could have done it for $400, but only ordered one when I bought parts to make new PC, and a week later, I decided to get a second card, but it was no longer on sale.) According to Tom's, at 1920x1080, the following...

Dirt 3 possibly slower than expected with dual 6950

Got my second 6950 and it looks good in 3d mark 11 compared to single video cards in the price range I paid. But in dirt 3, bench, it was not as good in comparison to some cards cheaper than it. Not a huge difference, but was a bit disappointing. Just the way it is, or did I do something...

    Crossfire bridge cable

I think you can justify the crossfire setup - 3D Mark 11; Performance : P9884, X3309 (This with an i7-3770, with slight overclocking which definitely helps the physics part of the score) Almost doubled the score ( P5674 and X1769 previously) And I turned off the video card OC for now, until I...
