I own a Dell 2405FPW and find it hard on the eyes for general work, a little too bright - contrast ration of 1000:1 and brightness level of 500cd/m2, but great for gaming.
On the other hand I've used the Apple 23-inch Cinema Display and find it better for general office work, not as bright...
Just curious bench261, what was wrong with your monitor? Sent mine back for a piercing high pitched whine.
Since I had it under 21 days Dell just gave me a full refund so I thought I wait a while before ordering another unit to give Dell time to work the bugs out.
I have the normal power supply hum or buzz thats barely audible when the monitor is cold, but once it heats up its as if someone literally throws a switch and the monitor starts to emit a much louder high pitched whine. The whine is so loud you can hear it walking past the door to the room. As...

If it wasn't for the noise the monitor would be perfect.

Now who would buy a 241mp when the preorder price for its replacement is $1500 (JRProducts).
For me the Samsung...
How does the Dell 2405 FPW compare with the Samsung 243T? Text crispness, color saturation and so on.
I've been in the market for a 24-inch wide aspect LCD monitor for some time and was hoping once Dell released its 24-inch offering the price on the Samsung 243T would start to drop or...
