So, my trusty and beloved 22" L227WTG monitor is starting to give me some troubles. It's having a hard time powering on (the power light will flash several times before staying lit, and the monitor will stay black for a full minute before displaying anything). I fear it could give up the ghost...
It's not that I'm worried, it's that the fan noise gets frighteningly loud, As in it literally startled me when it cranked up out of nowhere. It completely drowned out the sound from my speakers.

Okay, weird. I tried uninstalling all ATI drivers off my system, then reinstalling the new 10.7 drivers. However, the driver install simply... fails. It reverts back to 10.4 somehow.
So, I figured I'd upgrade to the latest 10.6 drivers from my 10.4 ones. Big mistake. Totally fubar'd my PC, giving me a BSOD error on starting Windows, in relation to the atikmdag.sys file. Started in Safe Mode, tried to uninstall the 10.6 drivers, and the installer program gave me a detection...
