    How does the 4000+ Sandi. rate against the FX series. It seems to me that you almost have the same performence for half the cost...(not forgetting the 90nm vs 120nm) ? or am I missing something ?

    How about trying it without any sound at all. Kill both the onboard and the audigy and see what happens. If it still plays up then I would put it down to it being not a sound issue.
