Kyle, I hope you will cover backwards compatibility with the existing TR4 boards. I know the TDP is different, but rumors have suggested that the new processors may work with current boards. I'd like to know if my Gigabyte Aorus board will support the sexy 32 core goodness...
I have the Gigabyte x399 board and I believe that has the Foxconn socket. I didn't find it too difficult to get it started, but I was prepared for it after seeing all the videos.
Looks like a killer build you have started! Keep us posted on your progress!
Coolant is here, the last fittings arrived and I'm finally back home to work on this beast! I have one hole to drill in the case for the fill port and that will be my last line to run. I hope to leak test it today and have it booting tonight or tomorrow!
GPU arrived, I got almost all of my lines plumbed. I was one fitting short, so that's been ordered and should be here by Friday or Saturday. Still waiting for the Primochill Vue coolant to arrive as well, but I can at least flush the system and test it for leaks.
Two Samsung 960 Pro drives ordered! I also preordered some of the new Primochill Vue coolant. I will probably order the video card next week and start building!

Thanks RedWagnum. I installed the motherboard on the Core x9 tray, installed the G.Skill Flare X RAM, put in the TR cpu and mounted the xspc waterblock. I still have a lot to figure out with my line routes, but I think I can get close even without the GPU. It'll be my first hard line build...
I know it's been a little while, but I have an update! Got the RV back, all fixed up. Finally got reimbursed for everything I shelled out for out of pocket. Last night, Newegg had the Gigabyte x399 board and the Threadripper 1950X on sale for a price I couldn't say no to, so I ordered it! It...
I ordered two 10 TB drives and the 32 GB DDR4 (PC3200, CL14!) for my build. I had a 10% code at newegg that worked on the G.Skill memory, so I saved about $40 there. The drives were on sale, too. Hopefully they'll put the 1950X and the motherboard on sale soon! I think this will be an...
