Thanks! I do enjoy the Mini-i quite a lot. Luckily, I haven't run into any problems in the almost year that I've had it. And I would be incredibly frightened if it did start playing all of a sudden at 0dB. I usually keep mine anywhere from -65 to -50dB, so I can't imagine how loud or damaging...
Currently using an A4Tech X7-801MP. It's fairly large at 10.5x13.3, but is dual-sided and feels very planted. Luckily this one one popped up on eBay and I snagged it for $6.
If I could direct the light against the wall instead of downward, it'd be a lot better, but it does a decent job. I'd like to upgrade to a set of the Dioders sometime in the future, or at least something to put under the bottom shelf.
I think the only problem you may run into is the arm stand hitting the lower shelf. From what I gather, you'll mount the arm to the table top, have the lower shelf slightly above the table top, then the monitor will "hover" above the lower shelf, and you'll have the top shelf above the monitor...
I think it's a very elegant lamp that is exceptionally well made. So yes I like it a lot, even if it only serves as an ambient light source for me.
