i went ahead and bought the m3a78 780g mobo. its on sale right now (free shipping at new egg). I considered the m3n78 but it has a lot of poor user reviews.
Hmm. Im still not convinced a kuma 7750 w/ 8200 mobo would be better than an e4300 w/ an 8600GT for an HTPC... am I missing something? The kuma 7750 is faster than the e4300 and I could use it more effectively as my main office/gaming system.
Yea I realize the noise and heat will be a problem with these CPUs but I'm trying to work with what I already have rather than buying more stuff. I believe the e4300 is 65w and the kuma is 95watts. Is it really that big of a deal? I read that you need an ht3.0 capable and CPU anyways for the...
Which is the better option for an HTPC to be a DVR and play HDTV/BLURAY etc.?
1) E4300 + 650i MB + 8600GT
or
2) Kuma 7750 + a 780g or nvidia matx board (to be purchased)
One will be my HTPC and the other will be an office pc.
Those look pretty good, and I almost got them. But I just decided to go with the Sony MDR-v6 instead for $75 shipped from Amazon. Is that an ok choice? It seems they have been around for so long, durable, tried and proven. Good Bass, low impedence and overall good sound. I was about to get...
I was about to buy these but then I realized they are OPEN and would bother people around me (not good for my situation).
What do you all recommend as a good pair of CLOSED headphones that are very comfortable and are a good first set of hi-fi headphones? $50-$100 is OK if its a good deal...
im running at 750x8 for 3.0GHz. Linked RAM, its also super talent ddr2-667... running at 750 MHz. But I had to lower the timings. This super talent stuff isnt that great really IMO. CPU voltage is like 1.4v and thats all that really seems to matter (and RAM to some extent).
Isn't it...
i had to use different screws to attach my akasa 40mm fan. i drilled bigger holes in the fan casing to fit larger screws. the fins on the heatsink are spaced widely so you need to use a larger diameter screw.
i got my RMA today and its working great now. orthos stable 3.0 with an E4300 at...
I'm using this little akasa cooler: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/akakchco.html
I'm going to take the fan off, put it on the NB, and use the heatsink w/ thermal pad on the SB (it should be low enough to clear a PCI-E card).
Mine stoped booting when I tried OCing as well. I had it stable at 9x333 with a E4300 and 1:1 mem ratio (667 MHz memory). The CPU voltage was 1.45 (is that too high?) And I had the CPU FSB and SPP voltages bumped up a tad too. Then I tried trimming my memory timings when it just died on me...
yep.. i took the motheboard out of the case. only installed 1 RAM stick, CPU/heatsink/Fan, video card. and power attachments. tried resetting the CMOS once more and still no change.
my next step is try another power supply? what do you guys think is broken?
MB?
RAM (is it possible for...
I had it up and running fine at 3.0 GHz, orthos stable (9x333, 1:1 ratio @ 1.45V CPU w/ freezer 7 pro)... then I tried to tighten the timings and rebooted.. got a blue screen of death then restarted and the computer WONT POST anymore. just a completely black screen. I've tried resetting the...
