Mac Mini will not boot up :(
I'd try to zap the PRAM if it was me... Command-Option-P-R while booting. Then I might give repairing permissions a shot. Boot off of your OS X cd/dvd and there's an option to do that in there...Have fun and good luck.- mcsenerd

firewire 800
Powerbooks 15" and up have Firewire 800...the 12" model does not...only Firewire 400- mcsenerd

Apple Opinion
You'll be getting more than a few mhz bump of Proc speed...you'll also be getting a faster FSB, more vid memory and a better chip, and a higher resolution screen. I think it's worth it...but hey...to each his/her own!- mcsenerd

Well...I think mr. palmer is full of fecal matter. I would never...let me repeat...NEVER...have purchased a Mac if it wasn't for the mini. Sure...I've always wanted to test the waters...but never in my entire life could I justify a piddly iMac at 1300plus dollars versus a PC I could build for...- mcsenerd

iPhoto Ate My Pictures
Yeah...well there's also a nasty bug that ruins your photos after only a few edits as well...ASFAIK it only happens with 10.4 FWIW though. Sorry for your loss...I'm not using iPhoto anymore until they can get it straightened out.- mcsenerd

Well...lo and behold...I come home this afternoon...and guess what's sitting in the entryway of my house? My new Dell 2005FPW! This thing is SCHWEEEEET! I just got it hooked up...haven't had a huge chance to test it out fully...but so far so good. -

FWIW I think with proper care and safeguards taken (and adequate assurance that neither begins life with major defects)...both LCDs will survive long enough that you'll be sick of 'em and wanting to buy something bigger and better anyway. how much did you pay for your 2005FPW?
They had a deal going with two coupons on top of the sale price they were already on for...I got the deal from over at gasp!...dealmac.com. I think one coupon was for free standard shipping and the other was like $65 off or something like that. They're saying they shipped it today...hopefully...
