An outside printer is printing everything we do. Remember though we also do web design work so the wide gamut might hurt me there. I also spend a considerable amount of time on the web so that does matter as well. "Close enough such that when I edit a photo for printing and send it away, I...

I can certainly get past it, there are some features with the mac display (cable management, magsafe) that I like, but it may be too many compromises. Though I'm looking into this wide-gamut thing now, not sure it's the way for me to go. How can I tell if it is a "wide-gamut" display? Is the...

Will I have problems with either the NEC or Lacie when viewing web pages, creating powerpoint presentations, ms word...general stuff that I do a good deal of? I'm thinking the Lacie might just be the best bet, but that NEC does get rave reviews. I'm trying desperately not to talk myself into...

I'll only be able to have one monitor, I'm running it off of a macbook Pro so dual isn't possible. What would it look like if I was between the NEC and Lacie? Pretty big price difference. Also how does the Apple display compare to what I'm using now, the Dell 2007WFP? Does the fact that...

Ahhh...thanks. That makes a bit more sense. Good point, I do design for both print and web...and for what it's worth have been designing on a Dell 2007WFP and have been okay (though I'm certain I could have much more accuracy).

Sorry, what do you mean by colleges? I'm not quite following. It was actually a report, done by NEC for the University of Utah, interesting stuff...here's the report: http://necdisplay.com/gowide/NEC_Productivity_Study_0208.pdf I'd really like the Apple display, because I'm a visual person...

So do I just see so many designers using the Mac displays (24, 30, etc) just because Apple is the default? How big, or maybe what kind, of difference would I see?

I'm a graphic designer...I don't know a lot on color accuracy except that I want what I design to match what is printed at the printer (as close as possible). Now we're not talking million dollar campaigns but I want it to be accurate so that I know what I'm designing will match. I was...
