Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
These sites are all great for reviewing single products but none of them have the comprehensive benchamark comparisons for lots fo video cards in multiple games like Toms does. HWC has a cpu bench and they are workin on one for video cards but we'll see.
Time to upgrade my vid card, its starting to show its age in games.
Was wondering which below would give the better perf/$. After looking at Toms it seems like these cards are really close in perf, especially in the 1680x1050 which is native for my monitor. Is the extra 384 vram used at...

I am looking to upgrade 1 component and get the most performace/$. Performance inc is needed for gaming.
My current thoughts are:
E6400 @ 3.0 Ghz ---> E8400 @ ~4.0Hgz ($200)
or
8800 GTS 320 MB ---> 8800 GTS 512 MB ($235)
or
Try to just OC the vid card...
So between 9800gtx and 8800 640 its about $100
and 9800 gx2 and 8800 640 is $300
is there a significant enough performance increase from the 8800 640 to gtx or gx2 ?
I have an 8800GTS (320mb) and want to get a decent upgrade but stay single card (no SLI).
I was thinking aboot the 8800 GTS 640mb ($235)
After reading TomsHardware and couple other sites no one really talks about cards above the 8800 GTS without going into SLI.
Is there a better bang...
