Oh wow that sucks, I had a M17x, the headphone thing broke and they did not have the part so they sent me a M17X R2, when one of the videocard's died the sent me a M18x. I never even really used the original M17x, got it as a gift.

Whats the best CPU for my purposes?

Since you are doing photo editing, a Core I7 might be a good cpu for you because of the hyper threading. But you could still get away with a cheaper 2500k.

    i7 3820 or i7 2600k

Since you are doing, just gaming and web browsing, I would say that you have no need for either of those cpu, if you must choose from either one of those cpu, then go for the 2600k, if you are open to other cpu options then go for the 2500k, you don't seem to be doing anything that justify's the...

Anything better than my 4890 for under 150?

Just like other people have stated the 6870, is a good card for the money, and overclocks well.

    GTX9800 +

If you want to give AMD, a try, I would say go 6850/6870, if you feel comfortable staying with EVGA, then go with a GTX 560.

Yeah, doing some research on that cpu. Looks like it will perform well.

Ok, thanks for the input, I was never talking about upgrading to 2670, I was thinking about the extreme cpu. I have used a computer with a SSD, and I could tell the difference, I just did not think that it is worth it.

Why do you hate your M18x, I have no problems with mine. Are you going by Dell parts or just parts for it in General.

    Worth Upgrading from 2630qm

I don't understand I was using a I7 740qm cpu, and then came to the 2630qm when I got the M18x, and there was a big performance boost. I don't want a gamecube, I can't make it run in 1080p like I can on the computer.

The 6970 does nothing in emulation, and you can force 1080p in emulation cpu does all of the work.
