Isn't that over 50% more expensive than a GTO2 and so performance wise not much more of an increase for the extra outlay.
There comes a point, as with most things, where you pay a great deal more for the latest newest thing that is only slightly better. Like in cycling where you pay a...
It's actually the GTO2 as in original post rather than the GTO. The GTO2 can be unlocked to 16 pipelines and 850XT PE performance with Bios mod, this can't be done on the GTO.
Agree this is the best bang for buck which is why I've ordered one for my Shuttle in UK. Just waiting for stock.
And now the gto2 is out that can be unlocked to 16 pipeline and near equal to a 850 xt pe, why buy an 800xl ????
bang for buck that has to be cheapest option.
When I was looking 800xl was somewhere in between 6800gt and Ultra.
Although now with the x800gto and the gto2 that can be unlocked to 16 pipelines and made virtually into a x850 xt pe, I would source the x800gto2.
Great headphones from the manufacturer used by many musicians on stage.
These are their top of the line headphones and brand new. Never been taken out of packaging and retail for $249 in US and £250 here in the UK.
I ordered White and got Black by accident. So dead handy for any1 with a...
I believe in 4 days time. There is a countdownclock on microdirect website here in UK. If the 800 GTO Fireblade does hack to 16 pipelines and get near X850xt performance it will be worth me getting that for approx £120 compared to the x850xt I have seen for £200 locally. No wonder prices are...
And seems the 800gto Fireblade (also known as GTO2) can be made to x850xt pe standard througha bios mod:

Not bad if the prices I have found on web (182 euros) which equates to£120 are true. Don't even know why x1600 has 12...
1st mistake I have made is to think Shuttle had onboard I could use for a few weeks. So build is hampered by no graphics card.
In the UK I can choose from the following at under £200:
x800xl at £175
6800 Ultra at £160
x850xt at £195
Have read up as much as I can till my head hurts...
The 6800 Ultra is a MSI OEM version. That any good? Can get for £180 new or a Asus version at £213. But £180 is x800xl money so really only want to pay that. £213 is nearer 7800gt money which I presume is better than a 6800 ultra.
Hi all,
I have just got together everything for my first SFF build as follows:
Shuttle SN25P
AMD 3000 Venice OEM
NEC 3540
Maxtor Maxline III 250GB SATA2
OCZ 2x512MB Platinum Rev 2
Thought that would be fine to get things going, there was onboard graphics for me to use, so I could...
