Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
(Sorry about raising an old thread, but I think this goes best here...)
A couple of days ago I found out that neither CCleaner nor Eraser can securely erase everything on a USB stick.
I "secure erased/wiped" a couple of USB sticks (entire drive, 7-pass scrambling). However, some files could be...
Game of the year (GOTY)? The best Batman game ever? I liked the game a lot, though the demo was very short. GeForce 8600 GT does not run the game very well even in a small window mode but that was not a surprise...
I installed Windows 7 beta (64-bit) on and old and slow hard drive. The installation was quicker and overall speed faster than Vista (32-bit).
The operating system accepted Nvidia GeForce drivers flawlessly. I installed The Sims 2 (CD version) and patched it with the latest patch. The game...
Thanks for your replies. An aftermarket cooler could be the solution to the problem.
Since GeForce 7800 GT is worth nothing nowadays, I think I could also try removing the faulty resistor causing 100 % fan speed.

Although it seems quite self-evident that the answer to this question is "no", I ask the people of HardForum knowledge nonetheless.
There is a desktop PC with an Nvidia GeForce display adapter. The exact manufacturer and model is "ASUS EN7800GT".
After years of use, the cooling fan of the...
The idea of this counter-campaign is beginning to unfold. I liked the very first commercial, too, but this is better.
As originally stated, these commercials really are not targeted to younger computer users. Hidden and layered messages can be difficult to put together and make the big...
I've been using JkDefrag under Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit). It seems to be a pretty good software product at least for the money (free). The method "optimize by sorting all files by name (folder + filename)" makes things (boot, Start Menu, launches) happen noticeably faster.
To use...
I think this was an ingenious move from Microsoft. Something that one would not expect such a company do. Windows Vista still has some irritating features but maybe they will be fixed in the future.
Does Mubadala Development know something about AMD that the others don't? Why would they invest such a pile of money in a company that - at the moment at least - has problems bringing out competitive products? I'm not a business expert so I don't understand all the manoeurves they perform. I...
I'm not sure if these could be the reason, but...
Have you installed the motherboard chipset drivers?
Are you using Zonealarm? It used to totally jam my Vista. Had to uninstall it with "/clean" option to get things working again.
Tested the demo with the following configuration:
Platform: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 (2,2 GHz), Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT (540/700), 2 MB RAM DDR 800 MHz CL5, Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Resultion: 1280 * 1024 with all settings turned to maximum, no anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering...
Club 3D GeForce 8600 GT with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit (genuine OEM, Finnish language).
Does this card have 2D mode at all? I have disabled the Aero theme and turned everything minimum, but the video card fan sounds like it is running at full speed all the time. The sound does not...
I have been playing the demo for some time and I think it is a good game. At least a very well working demo - even on Vista, too!
When I viewed some game instruction videos before playing the demo, I thought this game would be far too difficult to understand and master. Thankfully, this is...
