Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just hooked up my 39" LG LN5300 and it's a keeper. $394.00 including shipping and tax from New Egg (Amazon had it for the same but there was a 2-3 week wait backorder even with Prime.) Microcenter carries it for $429 if you want it local.
Even though this is a 39" it actually takes up a...
OK, here's the verdict:
After a month or so of playing with the Panny U3 with NO success of eliminating the image issues (even with a DVI to HDMI cable) I took the old Westinghouse and plugged it back in to describe the image issue to a friend of mine who is good at testing and soldering...
I've got the VGA adapter (and a good quality VGA cable) and the DVI to HDMI cable should arrive tomorrow. I'll post the result shortly after connecting.
After several years of gaming love, my LVM-37w3 finally gave up the ghost.
At first, I noticed some image retention, then finally the monitor would only display dusky, washed out images, as if someone through a smoke grenade into the room.
The backlight appears to still come on, and I've...
I've changed my settings to "RGB 4:4:4 Pixel Format PC Standard" in the Catalyst drivers and could now turn the sharpness level down to 0 from 20. Interesting articl on these selections found here: http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33936306
.. but at this point my brain may be...
Great-- I'll check that avsforum thread in a moment.
This may sound weird, but I've been reading that the type of cable may matter with some LCD set ups. I'm currently connected with HDMI to HDMI, but some folks are swearing that DVI to HDMI cables solved their issues, or even opened up new...
Thanks for the advice, I'll start on on AVS forums shortly-- this may be something I just have to learn to live with in the meantime. How often does one read read and blue text?
I've got to ask again, do you happen to know what type of chroma the Panasonic has? I've looked and just cant find...
SJetski71,
Funny you linked to the very comment I found about the "undefeatable" halo. I think it odd that a monitor that has 5 years of technical advancement on my old Westinghouse would have this sort of problem.
You mentioned the lack of 4:4:4 chroma subsampling-- could changing this...
So my old trustworthy 37" Westinghouse gave out a week ago, and after some research I ordered a Panny TC-L37U3 with an IPS panel as a replacement.
MUCH lighter than the Westinghouse, it looks great in games, no discernible lag and is so bright I have to turn the back light down to make it...
