    E8400 Temps Question

It is not more accurate since it takes the same reading from the chip, but the author of the software tried to use real world tests to figure out the TjMax. Here is what he said:

    E8400 Temps Question

I think unclewebb, who does a lot of testing with these chips, says to not worry about idle temps, just worry about the load temps. My e8400 idles at 46c with a Zerotherm Nirvana. However, at stock it's load is only around 52c under CoreTemp, and 42C under RealTemp. The temperatures may...

    Overclocking GA-P35-DS3L

If the settings cause the system to be unstable at boot, it will attempt to start up and shut down twice before reseting the settings to stock. Is this what is happening? Or are you booting fine and your settings aren't saving at all?

e8400 Overclocked For First Time on Gigabyte MB, Failed, Help

Like was mentioned above, this board has vdroop (voltage in Windows is less than in BIOS) so running two notches above at CPU load might be stock voltage. It you look at CPU-Z while running a stress test, you can see the core voltage at load. Just to give you an idea for 4ghz, I was able to...

    CPU Temp Monitoring Numbers...

Those seem valid. I'm running at 1.17 vcore (1.15v load) and getting 43C at idle for both cores. Your temps look fine to me. But remember, Intel says not to go by the core temp as they are only accurate at high temps. The CPU temp I will trust once the BIOS becomes more mature for the 45nm...

    CPU Temp Monitoring Numbers...

You will need the beta Speedfan to get the temperatures for the e8400, which you can register and download on their website. Or you can use CoreTemp 0.96.1 (make sure it's the newest). If you search around, you will see that the temps for the e8400 may very well be inaccurate at lower...

e8400 Overclocked For First Time on Gigabyte MB, Failed, Help

Oh, one last thing. You may want to post your batch code and see if anyone has similar experiences. You can also return the chip and get a new one at some retailers.

e8400 Overclocked For First Time on Gigabyte MB, Failed, Help

I don't mean to be rude, but it sounds like you really don't know how overclocking works. I would read up on more guides and then you should be better prepared. The e8400 is generally a good overclocker, but you have to know how the vcore, Speedstep, etc. work in the first place. I was able...

    help with zerotherm NV120 install

I did read the manual, however, I could not figure out where the adhesive tape was, it wasn't peeling off. I guess I am as bad as Tom's Hardware :p So if I do not have the adhesive, what is the best alternative to put on there? It it worth it after running a month?
