Official BenQ FP241W Thread !!! Info, Pictures, Reviews

Anyone have any burn in issues? I'm running Vista with the clock gadget in the top right hand side in the sidebar. I noticed today that the is a slight burn in when I closed the sidebar where the clock is usually present. I do use a screen saver as well which is set to 10 mintues.

Don't mean to be rude but it's been mentioned at least 5 or 6 times already. The issue may be that this thread is so long. I've explained it here: I find that the VGA does not work correctly on this monitor, even after the firmware update. Microsoft botched up the 1080p over VGA for...

VGA problems - Only problem I have here is that it doesn't display my 360 at 1080P and I believe this is an Xbox issue. HDMI and component displays black bars on all four sides with 1:1 - Use Aspect instead and it works fine. PIP is essentially unusable - Why? I use it with a composit...

Component does display a 1080p for the 360 however the maximum it can display for the HD-DVD addon is 1080i (this is not a limitation of the BenQ however).

I believe that it may be the 360 1080p update. Other brands are having issues as well (not just the BenQ) but I am curious that there has now been a couple of people who say it works fine for them.

Yes I have the firmware update. Other than the 360, I haven't used the VGA port for anything else so i cannot confirm the reddish greys/blacks on VGA within windows.

My 360 also comes up as 1680x1050 via the VGA port. I have a retail PAL 360 and I have a developers 360 where I can switch the unit to be either a US unit or an Australian unit and all have the same results.

As previously mentioned, you will not get 1080P from the 360 HD-DVD addon via the component but this is not a limitation of the screen. In regards to the VGA port, Microsoft are aware that many people are having issues with 1080p (not just those with the Benq) and they are working on another...

This is correct although, until Microsoft release another update to fix their last one, the VGA will not display at 1080p. Also, the limitation of the HD-DVD not being able to play 1080p over component is not a limitation of the Benq. There is a good FAQ at AVS Forums [SOURCE]:

You will get 1080P on the 360 via component but it will only show movies from the HD-DVD drive in 1080i.

I have the firmware update and this does not fix the issue of a 1680x1050 image on a 360 if the resolution is set to 1920x1080 on the 360. I've tried: - "Full" (which is a full screen image however the infomation screen says it's a resolution of 1680x1050) - "1:1" (which has the image in...

Mine is far from this. It could be because I have a PAL 360 but it appears washed out and, when I look up the information info, it says that the resolution is 1680 x 1050. Others get the same result as per the links I provided in the post above. Component however does display the 360 in 1080p.
